Market-hopping in Provence.

There are those that go on wine tours and on sight-seeing tours.  And then there are those that go on market tours...We planned our days around which markets are in which towns and then headed in that direction.

France is a market-hunting-trawling-scouring lover's dream. Whether you're looking for gastronomic delights or bric-a-brac - Provence has it all.  Below are some snaps taken whilst bustling through them with a bulging basket loaded with gorgeous goodies.

Whether you're looking for fabrics by the meter, or authentic antiques and bric-a-brac collectibles - this is the place to go.

Fresh lavender for all purposes.

Cured meats, sausages and Foie Gras galore.

Delicious black figs

Freshly baked meringues - a speciality of Provence, along with nougat.

Pick and choose from a variety of biscuits

My St Francis Bay.

Lighthouse at Cape St Francis

Rising from the ashes??? Dare I hope?

It's been a rough  year, and I'm almost too scared to say the word 'hope' out loud...but for the first time in a loooooong time, I feel the stirrings of it.
It seems that my sabbatical has evolved into pursuing an old, forgotten, yet ever-present passion of mine - photography. Having dusted it off, I headed off to shoot my friend's fashion show - and loved every minute of it. Was weird being in an adrenaline-busting environment involving fashion, and not be swept away by the anxiety of getting it all styled 'just right'. Behind the camera, I was removed from all this panic, and this detachment, was quite calming.

Have a look at my gorgeous and talented friend's Summer 2010 show:
Danielle Margaux.

Pre-show boredom...

Take a bow...
